Memoirs of a Geisha is a really good book. It about a girl who’s mother gets sick. Her mother wasn’t going to make it and her father couldn’t take care of her and her sister. She was only a little girl. Her dad sells her and her sister and she and her sister get separated. She was chosen to become a geisha because she was beautiful and her sister was not a pretty so she was sold off somewhere else. She grows up to learn about forgetting the past and becoming a geisha. She never saw her sister again after they met once. They planned to run away but only her sister escaped. A geisha is a girl who must entertain men and she sells her virginity to the highest bidder. Memoirs of a Geisha takes you through the life from when she was little all the way to growing up. It takes place during WW2 and the Great Depression.
Memoirs of a Geisha was a very good book. It got confusing at times and it has a lot of history in it. I wouldn’t recommend it to guys it’s not much of a guy book. It gets a little graphical as well but it is very suspenseful. It was worth reading and I enjoyed it. Again I would not recommend it to guys it’s really not a kind of book you would enjoy as a guy. It’s a good book and it may be pretty long and some parts boring but it has a good ending. =]
