Twilight

Title of Book:Twilight
Author: Stephenie Meyer
Reading Level: 4.9

Points: 18
Genre: fiction

Twilight is about a girl named Bella. She moved from Arizona to her least favorite place Forks, Washington, where her father lives. She doesn’t like the cold at all and Forks is constantly raining and dark. When she attends the high school in Forks she meets many interesting people but one who stood out the most-Edward Cullen. He and his siblings were all adopted and they are amazingly flawless to Bella, she thinks they look more like models and they don’t belong. Edward is always avoiding her and giving her death glares for a reason she can’t figure out because he doesn’t even know her. Though later on they start to hang out and they become very close, dangerously close, in Edwards eyes at least. Edward later has no choice but to tell Bella his unbelievable secret- he, his siblings, and parents are all blood thirsty vampires. This complicates things more with their strong relationship and love for one another. Edward must struggle to contain himself around Bella and try to avoid his thirst for her blood, which is very difficult for him to do. Edward must always be looking out for Bella because she seems to be a trouble magnet which makes it even harder for Edward!

Twilight is one of the best books I’ve ever read, maybe it is the best. It is the first book of the series by Stephenie Meyer. Twilight kept me on the edge of my seat and always wanting to read more. It is a very interesting love novel with a bit of a twist. I would highly recommend reading Twilight, boys will also enjoy the book, actually a guy in the book store recommended it to me and he said it was an amazing book and he enjoyed reading it. I know I enjoyed reading it. The other two books in the series, if you are interested, are New Moon, and Eclipse, and I hear she's working on a third called Breaking Dawn. Again I highly recommend reading Twilight, it is the greatest book I have ever read and some of it even takes place in Arizona which is pretty awesome because you know some of the places they are talking about.

Snakecharm

Author: Amelia Atwater Rhodes
Reading Level: 6.5
Points: 7.0
Genre: fiction

The book Snakecharm is volume two in The Kiesha’ Ra series. Snakecharm is about Zane Cobriana, a cobra shapeshifter. He had just married Danica, a hawk shapeshifter, and is very happy for her and the peace that they brought to the avian and the serpiente lands. Danica is carrying a child on their regal lines, but no one is really as happy as they should be. People don’t think it is a good idea to have a mixed-blood child. They don’t think that snakes and birds were meant to live together. They are in even more trouble when Syfka, an ancient falcon, comes from Ahnmik and claims that one of her people is hidden in the serpiente and avian land somewhere. The falcons are more powerful than the serpiente and avian people combined, and Syfka is not very happy about the alliance they made together and the mixed-blood child they were to have. Zane’s people don’t seem too happy to have a mixed-blood child as heir to their throne; they fear that the avians will take control of their lands. Was Syfka there to just start trouble and break the alliance or was her lost falcon really in their lands? Will their peace be destroyed or will they find a way to make everything right again?

Snakecharm is an amazing book. I highly recommend reading it. It is very interesting and will definitely keep you at the edge of your seat when you are reading. It is a very good book and there are some romantic parts, it does keep you reading and you will find yourself not wanting to stop reading. Some things happen unexpectedly and that is what makes it a good book to read, because it keeps you interested about what will happen next. I loved the book and again I highly recommend it. The first book to the series is called Hawksong, then is Snakecharm, Falcondance, and last is Wolfcry.
