Uglies is the first book in a trilogy of four books. It is about a girl, Tally Youngblood, who is about to turn sixteen. Where Tally lives, when you turn sixteen, you turn pretty. While waiting for her sixteenth birthday to come, she meets a new friend. One day before her birthday, her friend tells Tally her plan to runaway and asks Tally to join her; Tally refuses. Her birthday comes and Tally has to choose: betray her friend and become pretty, or stay uglie for life.
I recommend this book to everyone who enjoys adventure and suspense. You stay with the book and always want to read more. In this book, you can understand Tally’s problem; most of us have had to make a very difficult decision before. But, if you read this book, you need to make sure you read the other three!
