Reading Level: 6.0
Points: 15.0
Genre: Fiction

My Friend Flicka is about a boy who wants a baby horse of his own. His father doesn't appove of him since he is always daydreaming and failed all of his classes so he has to redo a grade in school. But the father finally gives in and let's his son pick any horse he wants. Ken of course picks the foal from the wildest horse on the ranch and his father tells him to pick another horse, but he refuses. Ken names his foal Flicka and they have a rough start. Flicka hurt herself trying to escape from Ken and Ken had to care for her for weeks. Flicka and him start to bond and build a lifelong friendship. Also Ken decides to do some school work during the summer and gets accepted into the next grade level. His father finally accepts him and Flicka and Ken and him actully become very close.

I would recomend this book to anyone who loves animals, adventure, fmaily life, and a boy and his horse. My Friend Flicka is very heart warming and is a quick read even though it's 300 pages. This book is a great way to get 15 points for the fourth quarter too. So next time you go to the library check out My Friend Flicka, you won't regret it.'
