This story is about a boy named Henry Huggins. All he wants is a red bike he can ride up Klickitat Street. One day Henry is walking home from a friends house and notices tons of boxes with gum in it. His friend Beezus sees all of the gum and comes up with an idea. Henry can sell all of the gum at school then earn the 50 dollars he needs for his bike fund. He sells some of the gum but only earns $4.60. Then he tries selling newspapers but that didn't work because his dog Ribsy would bring them back. Then he notices in the newspaper that an action is being held for unwanted bikes. Its half way into the auction and he still doesn't have a bike. Then there is a bike on sale for exactly $4.60 will he get the bike or will someone over price him find out by reading the book.

I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys books about kids problems and how they solve them. This book was very easy to read and take a test on. If your planning to read this book and and you enjoy it you should try reading other Beverly Cleary books. This book was also funny and is for all ages. So if you ever want a easy entertaining book to read you should read this one.
