Eragon is a farm boy that is hunting in a supposed "cursed" area of Alagaesia called the Spine, where he finds a polished, oval. He brings it home and trys to sell the rock for meat since there family is poor. They wouldn't take the rock because it came from the Spine. Later on Eragon sees that it is a hollow egg and a dragon hatches from it! He touches it and gets a gedwey ignasia, a glowing symbol on his palm. He raises the dragon in hiding. When the dragon is older, the house is ruined by the Ra'zac and almost killed Eragon. Saphira, the dragon, flys him away saving him life. He has nothing left there so he goes of with Brom the Storyteller and begins an adventure unknown to man kind. He battles a Shade twice, is ambushed by Urgals, saves an elf, learns to use magic, block people out of his mind, ride Saphira, gets captured, mets the son of one of the most well known evil rider, travels 400 miles in 8 days, get tortured, tested to his limits, Saphira learnes how to breathe fire and so much more.
I recommend this book to all people who enjoy adventure and following the life of a person that never gets peace. This book is amazingly easy to follow. When I was reading it I couldn't put it down because there was never a place that wasn't interesting to read. They do use weird names like Yazuac, Ajihad, Galbatorix, Nasuada and many more but there is a pronoucetation guide it the back and a language guide. So when he kills 5 Urgals with the word brisingr or moi stenr you can create a mind picture.

Hi! Everyone is reading that book so it has to be good maybe ill read it next the only bad thing i see about that book is the length.
I love Eragon; it is one of my favorite books! They also have a sequel to it and a third book will be coming out soon. I would recommend this book to anyone who hasn’t read it yet; it has a great story line!
Hey Paige that book sounds really good! The only problem with me is the length but otherwise that book sound really good!

Kaitlyn and Talyor,
I see what you are saying. I thought it would be to long for me to but I finished it EXTREMELY fast. I wanted it to keep going on. Luckily for people who read this book, the second one is just as good, maybe better and as ashley said the third one is coming out soon. I think it is interesting that he wrote his book when he was about 15, I think!
I think you are right paige, but I still don't know I haven't decided yet. I will have to check it out some time. I saw the movie and I thought it was good, so the book might be the same but I don't know I will consider checking it out some time though. I didn't even know that they were even making a third cause I haven't even read the first I will possibly think of it though, as a summer reading book. Thanks for the comment!
