This web page is designed for students to tell about the AR books they are reading and share pertinent information with their classmates.
Hi Students,
Each student is required to post a blog on this site at least once each quarter. You will be following the format below to tell about an Accelerated Reader (AR) book you have completed. This book must be written on your reading log and have a parent's or teacher's signature. Your entry on this blog site will be graded. It is up to you when you post your information although you will probably want to do this as soon as you have taken your AR test on a book.
In addition, students may want to respond to a "blog" written by another student. At any time throughout the quarter, students may write their own opinions or feedback about another entry written on this site. All entries will be monitored for appropriateness.
Your classmates will enjoy reading what you write either in your entry or in response to someone else's. Have fun with this. :-)

«Oldest ‹Older 201 – 256 of 256The Pretty Committee Strikes Back
By Lisi Harrison
Reading level: 4.4
Points: 8
Fiction
The Pretty Committee Strikes back is a very fun book that is one of a series. Theres a group of 5 girls who are the leaders of their school. The girls are all going on a school fieldtrip out in the wilderness. Yet there all worried about their boyfriends and their first kisses. Massie( the most important of the girls) pretends to know everything about kissing but really doesn’t. When the girls and her crush find out, it’s a chaos. And in the end there’s a very exciting cliff hanger that makes you want to keep on reading.
I recommend this book to girls. Its more of a chick flick book and you really wouldn’t catch a guy reading it. It keeps you entertained and doesn’t get boring. Also you almost feel like your friends with the people in the book. Theres a lot of drama so you have to be in to that kind of stuff to really enjoy it but its still fun for every part of it.

Points: 11.0
Fiction
The Second Summer of the Sisterhood is the second book in the Traveling Pants Series. All four girls, Carmen, Lena, Bridget, and Tibby are looking forward to summer. They will all be together except Tibby who is going to film school. The other three plan to get jobs together. The Vampire Lestat
By Anne Rice
Reading level: 6.5
Points: 34
Horror, Fiction
The Vampire Lestat is a novel that tells the story of Lestat’s childhood. It also tells how he became a vampire and what happened to him after. In the book it answers the questions you asked about Lestat in the first book of the vampire chronicles. You get to see what made Lestat the evil, sarcastic vampire you knew in the first book. It also lets you see a side of Lestat that makes him more likeable. You may notice I’m not giving really anything from the book itself that’s because there isn’t anything I can tell you without telling a secret from Lestat’s childhood. You need to read it yourself.
This book was one of my favorite books because it was so descriptive the scene jumped out to you. It’s the perfect book if you like vampires, are a little dark, or just love a good book. When your reading this book its hard to go back to reality. You feel like you’ve known the characters your whole life after you read this book. Although I recommend you read the first book (Interview with the Vampire) first or it will be hard to follow the second book.

It seems to always start when Aunt Sally gives an idea. Right before Alice turns 13 she and her Aunt Sally, who lives in Chicago, have a talk about being a woman. Her mother died when she was only four, and now it’s just her dad, her brother, Lester, and Alice. That shocked Alice. After that she started to take control of the house. She, being the youngest of the house she always thought her brother and her dad were supposed to take care of her.
I thought it was a great book for girls. There are some times that make you cry. Some that make you want to laugh out loud. There parts that will make you say WHAT? I thought it was one of the best books I had read. I would recommend this book to every one.

Father Water, Mother Woods.
By Gary Paulsen
Reading Level: 6.2
Points: 6.0
Non Fiction
The book is about the author, and how he lived "back in the day". There are three sections in the book. The first half is about fishing, and how to do it without having any money, to buy lours and new rods ect. The second section is about how he whent on some very interesting camping trips. The third section is about, every thing hunting, in the north.
This is a great book for fans of the brian books (The Hatchet, The River, Brians Winter, Brians Return ect.). it is a semi-short book, and doesnt have the survier factor, like the other Fiction books. It teaches you a lot about how to catch certain fish, and how to get close to animals, with out all of the fancy camo gear. but i wouldn't recomend it to any 1 who doesn't like hunting, fishing, or any thing that has to do with wild animals being killed, for food.
